Last June, I decided to advance in my education by either applying to law school or applying to the MBA program of Montclair State University. I decided to do the latter since my passion has always been in business. From the moment I graduated from Montclair in 2010 with my degree in Business Administration, I knew I would be back for more. Now almost four years later, I am back to the grind of power-points, final exams and group projects.
Family members, colleagues and friends frequently ask how I am doing in the MBA program and I reply great! Then some reply with a doubtful tone "I hope it is worth it". Now how do I respond to that? I think and reply "Yes, this is a personal goal, a very expensive personal goal but still one I want to obtain while I am young".
After hearing this statement, I question myself. Will it be worth it? I am aware that numerous MBA graduates are unemployed but so are numerous other professionals and students. I think the intrinsic value of having a MBA degree in a few years is what is driving me to keep going. I will be the first person in my family with a masters degree. The feeling of accomplishment and being able to offer new ideas and concepts to my workplace motivates me.
So, yes it will be worth it.
